Welcome to Latea

The laboratory was founded in 1980 with the name Laboratory of Separation Processes. Until 1990, the laboratory was coordinated by Prof. José Carlos Gubulin and the research focused mainly on heat and mass transfer of adsorption processes. In 1991, research on Electrochemical Engineering started.

Since 2007, the laboratory has been coordinated by Prof. Dr. Luís Augusto M. Ruotolo, with the name Laboratory for Environmental Technologies (Latea). In 2016, Prof. Dr. Francisco Guilherme E. Nogueira joined to the research group, bringing a new research line in photocatalysis.

The Latea group develops Scientific Initiation, Master, and PhD. studies in the field of Adsorption and Electrosorption, Electrochemical Engineering, and Photocatalysis, maintaining collaborative projects with research institutions from Brazil and abroad, and partnerships with companies for technology transfer.
